A new approach to GANTT Charts

impression of Tom's Planner Gantt chart

Our goal was to make Tom's Planner as intuitive as possible. That's why we’ve chosen a new approach to project planning and creating Gantt Charts. Tom's Planner enables you to work directly in the Gantt Chart instead of only being a viewing option like in most project planning software.

The magic is in the right click. For example: to insert a new period in your project plan, a context menu will open when you right click your mouse. You can then select the option 'insert a new period' and choose a color.

contextmenu oriented software

The same applies for a context menu that will appear when you right click on the frame that displays activities and groups.

export your gantt charts to ms-project

Above the grid you will find the toolbar. This toolbar includes all of the actions you can project plan on your schedule. For example, you can export your project plan to MS Project from the moment your project requires the complexities of this management software.

publish your gantt charts online

You can also publish and share your project planning online with others. Your team members will be able to view the Gantt Chart you’ve created at www.tomsplanner.com/shared/name-of-your-schedule. You can protect your online project planning information with a password.

lock your gantt charts to protect your data Another great Tom’s Planner feature allows you to lock every Gantt Chart with a password, so you can choose to authorize people to adjust the schedule or simply view it.

export gantt charts to images to include in reports Do you want to incorporate your project plan into a report? Simply click on “export to image” and your entire project plan will be saved as an image file that can then be included in for example, Word or Excel documents. You can also mail it to others, store it within your project archive, put it on your intranet or include it within any other project management tool you are currently using.

drag and drop oriented software

You can keep your project plan up to date by easily clicking on tasks or activities and dragging them to a different location. You can also drag with your mouse over your Gantt Chart to select multiple tasks at once. This makes it possible to create temporary dependencies between different elements in your Gantt Chart.
